Uploading your files to Dan’s House

Whether you’re sending me files for mastering, or if my studio and yours are collaborating on a project, you can send your tracks online. Email’s OK for sending small files, but for the big stuff, my YouSendIt dropbox or FTP would work the best.

usenditMy You Send It account’s dropbox is a the easiest way to exchange files online, as long as your file size is not over 2 gigs. Simply click on the logo to the left to begin uploading your file. Feel free to zip files together into a single directory to make the process easier.

If you’d like to FTP files directly to my server, email me, and I can give you a username and password to upload your files.

If you’re new to FTP, the acronym stands for “file transfer protocol” - an FTP program is a tool that you use to transfer files from one computer to another. While some FTP programs cost money to use, the two below are free....
filezillaIf you’re new to FTP (“file transfer protocol”), I’d recommend Filezilla - it’s free (always a good thing), easy to download, easy set up and use.

FireFTP_logoMy personal favorite free FTP tool is FireFTP,  Mozilla’s FTP addon for FireFox. Again, it’s easy to use, and opens up right in your FireFox browser window by going to your “tools” tab, and clicking on “FireFTP”.

When I post your files online for you to download, I’ll give you a link to access all your files online, and provide your own download username and password - this way, only you will be able to access your tracks online.
